After years of
working in a demanding corporate position, I moved my family to the High
Desert of Central Oregon, seeking a business that would give me time to
reconnect with my family. After taking my first candle out of the mold, in
1998, I knew I found something I could be passionate about. That
same week I started buying candle-making equipment and have spent several
years developing a recipe for the right combination of wax, wicking and
mold to obtain an outstanding candle. My family: Michelle, my daughter;
Michael, my son; and my 2 precious grandchildren, Anya and Maiah is a
great source of inspiration in all aspects of the business.
Anya and Maiah- can be found in the shop
taking candles out of the molds or at local shows providing great
customer service. Both are creative and have designed some of my most
popular color combinations for the pillar candles.
My daughter, Michelle, is a Registered
Nurse and a great mom to my two grandchildren. Michelle is always
available to me for support, physically and emotionally. She
inspires me to be a better mom. To celebrate college and high school
graduations, the three of us took a trip to Mexico in January 2002.
This was taken at the airport.
My youngest, Michael Sterling, joined
the US Marines on September 11, 2001. This was taken at his
graduation from boot camp, San Diego California, May 2002. Michael
has always given me support and help with the business in many ways from
designing the layout of the shop to providing sound business advice and
computer support.
